Well, Now I Know What Has Happened to Dr. Carson's Ratings
This past Saturday's debate was the first one I had been able to watch since the very first one months ago. I'm one of those disregarded and disrespected Americans without cable or satellite service. I didn't catch the entire presentation, but I did get to see the grand majority of it. And in all of that time, Dr. Carson was asked three questions. One of them was during the brief health care section of the show, where they pretty much had to recognize him, simply because of his medical profession.
An analytical bar graph that I found said that he was asked seven questions. In that on-line report, ABC contends that Governors Bush, Christie and Kasich were similarly slighted with nine, eight and eight, while Senators Cruz and Rubio were directly queried sixteen and fifteen times, respectively and Mister Trump was addressed with almost as many, with fourteen. Of course, the most slighted candidate of all was Carly Fiorina, who was totally excluded from the extravaganza. To make things even more lopsided, the governors, the senators and the mister were never above interrupting or interjecting, which Dr. Carson is too much of a gentleman to do.
The most amusing part of the debate for me was at a point when Dr. Carson was specifically addressed, he said something to the effect of "being glad to be here for more than just stage beautification." As I said, I missed some of the broadcast. But during the hours that I watched, the moderators were constantly saying, "Senator, Senator" and "Governor, Governor, Governor" and "Mister", to a point of pointlessness. As I stated, "Dr." was only said thrice. And shamefully, "Ms." was never uttered once.
