Just prior to the Hawkeye Cauci, Ted Cruz's people were spreading the falsehood of Dr. Carson's intention to withdraw from the race. For that, Ted Cruz does owe Ben Carson more than his already issued meaningless apology. Rush says that he should give Dr. Carson up to three Iowan delegates. I'd say at least three, all the way up to all eight awarded to him, to make up not only for delegates that switched to him, but also perhaps to other candidates. Such action would be an honest gesture to make up for the dishonesty. Cruz is stating that his people only spread the news as it was accurately reported by CNN. The truth is that they shared only part of the report, omitting the most important point, that though Dr. Carson was not heading to New Hampshire or South Carolina right away, if at all, he was NOT dropping ot of the race. And a half truth is not truth.
It is this type of political prevarication against which Dr. Carson has so rightfully railed. I had considered Sen. Cruz to be probably the most forthright and trustworthy among the politicians running for President. What a saddening, but not surprising development. I suppose that it is to be expected of a lawyer.
