I Still Love It, But I AM Becoming Disillusioned

I've been a fan of this show since its inception with judges David Hasselhoff, Brandy, and Piers Morgan, along with Regis Philbin hosting.  I became a religiously fervent fan in season five when the show found and introduced to the world singing sensation Jackie Evancho.

Of course, my first disillusionment with the show was that she finished second.  Assuming that the vote was honest and accurate, I can't blame the show for that.  It lies at the feet of the same type of dumb mass voters who gave us two terms of Baracka Hussein Obama.

Tonight is the night for which we fervent fans have been waiting since last Wednesday.  My current and growing disillusionment will be strengthened with tonight's episode's airing.  It comes from my own apparent misconception. I honestly, but evidently ostensibly thought that AGT  was a talent show format designed to discover and develop previously largely unknown AMERICAN talent.
A full half of tonight's contestants are not American and two of them are well known on a world wide basis, much like Mochi and Shin Lim from last week's show are.

The Sacred Riana, from Indonesia, has already won Asia's Got Talent.  Dutch singer Glennis Grace, whom I love as a professional performer, should have received Chris Hardwick's Golden Buzzer, given the choices of that episode.  He regretted that he had already given that honor to a faux art performer before Glennis sang that night.  Shocking me last week,  America had the good sense to send the rapper home when we got to vote.  More than being from The Netherlands, my problem with Ms. Grace competing in America's Got Talent is that she has public performance experience and a discography which dates back more than a decade that includes a platinum album and a double platinum disc.

But acts with whom I DO have problems include:
Image result for savitsky cats agt   As a long time cat fancier and admirer of attractive women, I find Savitsky Cats to be wondrously wonderful from both of their short presentations.  But they are from the Ukraine and I can't imagine a clowder of cats performing entertainingly for a hour or more, as would be required in a Las Vegas headline act.
Image result for da republik agt    Da Republik, from the Dominican Republic grates my soul with the Soviet style spelling of their name and their bull squeeze sob story about being so dirt floor poor. Their women's hair, their costuming and their ability to internationally transport and house that many people belie their claim of poverty.

Image result for yumbo dump agt  If the spitters, who were wisely voted out last week were the stupidest act in the history of AGT , as Simon proclaimed, Yumbo Dump has to be a close second.  Just because they made it to the semifinals of Asia's Got Talent is no reason for them to be sent to the semi's of America's Got Talent.  They should have NEVER been advanced to the quarterfinals ahead of such talented American acts like French Accent and Hamster Wheel.

Two other acts for whom I won't cast a vote, purely on performance principles are Quin and Misha and Duo Transcend.

As a septuagenarian, Misha is a breathtakingly beautiful woman and an astounding dancer...so much so that she requires a partner half her age.  Their guest judge Golden Buzzer was awarded more for political correctness than for performance competence.  I can't imagine being truly entertained by this dynamic dancing duo for more than a few minutes.
Guest judge Dr. Ken stated that this is America;s Got Talent, not America's Got Perfection.  But an acrobatic act, which might not need a flawless performance, does require not dropping your partner on her arse from twenty feet up.
So, who does that leave me for whom to vote tonight?  Like last week, just three.  Golden Buzzer recipients Makayla Phillips, Voices of Hope Children's Choir and comedian Samuel J. Comroe.  After GBing Makayla, who caught Simon's full attention with her opening line of her remarkable rendition of Warrior, Heidi proudly and loudly proclaimed that she thinks she found the winner.  I'd be okay with that.   She is visually and vocally vibrant and she is an American, if not all amateur, having a net worth of a million dollars, like Shim Lin.  I'm not sure if that's from her prior performing, like Shin, or if her Palm Springs family is just that rich.  VOHCC is inspiring and uplifting.  And I LOVE Miss Sarah for what she has accomplished with these kids.  Reminiscent of season ten Golden Buzzer recipient and runner up Drew Lynch, self-deprecating disabled comedian Comroe is comic genius.

Though, as I said, I'm sure to be further disillusioned tonight, but I shall also be delighted, as Daliso Chaponda was when he first stepped on the Britain's Got Talent stage on his way to a Golden Buzzer and third place finish on that superb show.
